Shroud Streams CS:GO, Quits to Play Valorant After DDoS Attack Crashes Server

One of the most popular streamers in the world, Michael "shroud" Grzesiek who is also a former professional CS:GO player, was met with extreme disappointment yesterday on 4th August, when he returned to streaming Counter-Strike after a long time. After having played Apex Legends for about four hours, shroud decided to play CS:GO, but was unable to find a match quickly due to multiple problems with the 'Trusted Launch'. After resolving all the problems, Shroud finally found a match, only for the official Valve server to crash in the middle of the very first round, following an apparent DDoS (Distributed Denial-of-Service) attack.

Shroud immediately quit CS:GO while stating that "I mean we are done, that's it. Okay, I am done." The 27-year-old went on to play Valorant instead while explaining that "We click Valorant. We hit play. We are in it, in just 10 seconds flat."

Shroud streams CS:GO after a long time only to face disappointment

Shroud who is one of the biggest Twitch streamers in the world, had completely abandoned CS:GO for other competitive titles like Apex Legends, Valorant, and many other games for quite some time now.

However, the Canadian streamer decided to stream some CS:GO yesterday after having played Apex Legend for almost four hours along with Justin "just9n" Ortiz who is also a Twitch streamer.

Initially, Shroud was a bit confused with the transformed UI (User Interface) and all the changes that Valve had introduced to the game in the last few months. On top of that, he also faced issues with 'Trusted Launch' and had to even restart CS:GO a few times. Frustrated, he went on to say:

Shroud opened CS:GO for the first time at 04:39:30 in yesterday's stream and after solving all the problems, found his first match at 04:51:57. It took shroud almost 13 minutes to enter a match, which is a lot of time especially for a streamer.

Things only took a turn for the worse after the official Valve server crashed even before the first round could come to an end, with one of his teammates, just9n, claiming that it was due to a DDoS attack.

Multiple CS:GO community members also spoke about it being a DDoS attack which is a known problem faced by Counter-Strike streamers. According to community members, hackers can crash CS:GO games via GOTV including those being played on official Valve servers.

Na'Vi to release first full-length documentary on s1mple in August

The Ukrainian organization celebrated the five-year anniversary of its star player s1mple yesterday, by dropping a surprise trailer about an upcoming full-length documentary, completely dedicated to him.

Celebrating 5 Years of Na'Vi S1mple

The 23-year-old is one of the most insanely talented CS:GO players to have ever played the game. He has shown immense growth since joining Na'Vi on 4th Aug 2016.

His performance inside the server has grown exponentially over the years, as he was rated as the best CS:GO player in the world by HLTV in 2018, following this he was named as the second-best player in 2019 and 2020 by the same portal.

The only thing that evades one of the best CS:GO players to have ever touched the game is a Major title, which might soon be ticked off s1mple's bucket list as Na'Vi is being touted as the favorites to win the upcoming PGL Major Stockholm 2021 this coming October.

This is not the first documentary released by Na'Vi. On 23rd March 2021, the Ukrainian organization has released a documentary dedicated to the entire CS:GO team called 'NAVI. Born to win'. Its premiere was held at Oktyabr (October) cinema center in Russia, while also being shown across multiple Russian cinemas (KARO cinema network) in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Samara, Yekaterinburg, Surgut, and Tyumen. After the theatre release, the documentary was then available on Russian OTT platforms like More.tv and Wink.

[Watch] CS:GO Player Takes Insane 1v4 Clutch Ace With Scout on Nuke

Scout is generally not preferred as an ideal weapon to play with during proper buy rounds, especially when you find yourself to be in a 1v4 situation on the 32nd round. However, if you have 'Scouter_CS' in your team the weapon's lethality goes beyond godlike. The CS:GO player is popular within the community for his Scout gameplay which can rival the best Counter-Strike players in the world. In his hand, a Scout is basically a combination of both a Deagle and an AWP. So when he found himself in a 1v4 situation on Nuke, it was not a disadvantage for him instead it was an opportunity to create a viral clip and showcase his dominance with the scoped weapon rifle.

Scouter takes fantastic 1v4 clutch scout ace

Scouter once again showcased his skill with the scout, a weapon that most silver players are oblivious to. Playing overtime on Nuke, true to his nature Scouter stuck to his weapon of choice to hunt down the entire enemy team and secure a '17-15' lead for his side.

The round started of well for the CT-sided Scouter and his team, with a clean scout kill being taken near the 'Outside' position on Nuke. However, the round collapsed fast as all the other CTs went down while attempting to hold the 'A-Site'.

With four T-sided players still alive and Scouter armed with the scout, one kill already to his name. The opportunity was perfect to showcase the power of the handy AWP, as he went beast mode to secure the clutch ace and win the round for his side.

Scouter is quite popular within the CS:GO community for his fantastic plays with the versatile scoped rifle. He claims to have more than 7,000 hours in CS:GO during which he has allegedly secured more than 185,000 frags with the scout alone.

He also has more than 9,000 followers on Twitch and about 41,000 subscribers on YouTube, where he generally shares edits of some of his highlight moments with the Scout.

Extremely Rare CS:GO Knife Estimated to Be the Most Expensive Skin Ever

Skin trading is a big part of CS:GO and over the years it has even turned into a profitable aspect of the game, well-integrated by Valve via the Community Market. However, the business of buying, selling, and trading CS:GO skins and cosmetic items has become so massive that most of the major transactions now take place outside the official realm. Not all virtual items have the same value, there are some really rare and unique ones that are worth more than $100,000 USD. Recently, an extremely rare version of the Karambit Case Hardened Knife was discovered which is estimated to be about $800,000 in value, according to popular CS:GO skin trader and YouTuber ohnePixel. This allegedly makes it the current most valuable Counter-Strike cosmetic in the world.

Extremely rare CS:GO knife estimated to be worth $800,000

An extremely rare knife skin has been discovered by popular CS:GO skin trader ohnePixel, who estimates it to sell for around $800,000 if the owner ever decides to do so.

He came across the knife while going through the CS:GO Exchange Item Database, the information about its owner is limited though due to private Steam Account settings.

CS:GO Knife Listing on CS:GO Exchange Database

However, details about the knife was available which is a Karambit Case Hardened skin in a Factory New (FN) condition. It has a Wear Rating of just 0.0480 with a Pattern Template 387, making it one of the rarest knife skins in CS:GO.

The current owner of the knife had apparently purchased it five years ago in 2016 for about $100,000, but since then the knife's value has grown exponentially by more than eight times. It is now estimated to sell for about $800,000, apparently making it the most valuable item in Counter-Strike history.

A number of CS:GO skins in the past have been traded for high values, such as in July 2020, when an M4A4 Howl, which had rare iBUYPOWER stickers from Katowice 2014 reportedly sold for a world-record $100,000, which is now up on the market once again for $130,000.

The $800,000 estimate claim might seem a bit too bold and unrealistic, but considering the rarity of this particular CS:GO knife skin which is literally completely blue on one side, playing down its value is also a bit absurd.

Swedish Legend Olofmeister Names Members of His CS:GO Dream Team

FaZe Clan's unofficial substitute and two times CS:GO Major winner, Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer Gustafsson recently revealed his Counter-Strike dream team, which consists of two players from the Danish giants Astralis. The 29-year-old who has cemented himself as a Counter-Strike legend might not be at the same level as he once was, but he still packs a mighty punch having faithfully served FaZe Clan on and off since August 2017. There were some talks about his retirement, and he did take multiple breaks, only to return every time.

Olofmeister in an interview with betway esports revealed his dream CS:GO lineup, which consists of his long-standing teammate, Håvard "rain" Nygaard among other talented players. Surprisingly, olofmeister did not include himself in this roster and was happy to just coach them.

Olofmeister's CS:GO Dream Team

Olofmeister was given the task to select his Counter-Strike dream team and this is what he came up with. The Swede who is currently a part of FaZe Clan's active lineup for the fifth time seems to have a lot of belief in Astralis' players, including two of them in his lineup.

This is Olofmeister's complete CS:GO dream team lineup,

  • Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut - AWP / Star Player

  • Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander - IGL (In-game Leader)

  • Robin "ropz" Kool - Lurker / Anchor

  • Håvard "rain" Nygaard - Entry Fragger

  • Emil "Magisk" Reif - Versatile

  • Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer - Coach / Sixth Player

Olofmeister had a word or two to say for every player that he chose in his dream team, showing confidence in the roster that he had chosen by stating that,

  • ZywOo was the first pick by olofmeister who praised him for his talent and skill, commending him by saying that "I've never seen anyone as this kid before". Comparing ZywOo's current performance to his peak, olofmeister gave the French youngster a pat on the back.

  • Gla1ve was chosen as the IGL for the dream team with olofmesiter saying that "I think that's a pretty obvious choice". Commending the Dane for his history and all that he has achieved with Astralis so far.

  • Ropz was selected for the role of an Anchor and a Lurker by Olofmeister, highlighting the young rifler's aim and his composed mindset. He acknowledged that ropz does not get the credit that he deserves, but is someone very reliable.

  • Rain, his long standing teammate, was selected as the Entry Fragger for the side. Olofmeister said that he always takes on the hard roles and despite the struggle, rain still has it in him to go up against the best.

  • Magisk was the final player, who according to Olofmeister, would have a versatile role, filling in all the gaps for the team as and when required.

This is Olofmeister's dream CS:GO team, which actually looks really great and well balanced on paper. It would certainly be a dream for many to see them in action together; a team that is versatile, quick to adapt to different situations, and solid in pistol rounds.

Shiftwalk Accuracy CS:GO Bug Ignored by Valve for Years, Community Takes a Stand

The CS:GO community has decided to take a firm stand against Valve's ignorance when it comes to the game-breaking 'Shiftwalk Accuracy Bug', which has also affected professional competitive games. The massive bug has the potential to disrupt games by affecting the outcome of a particular round or even the match, which could be devastating under several circumstances. This CS:GO bug directly impacts the accuracy of bullets when a player fires a shot from a crouching position right after shift walking, as the first two bullets are always highly inaccurate. The bug which goes against the normal game mechanics was first reported by ‘u/Zoddom' in 2019.

Since then, this particular bug has been highlighted multiple times within the CS:GO community, garnering a lot of attention but has still failed to attract Valve's scrutiny.

CS:GO community takes a stand against the critical 'Shiftwalk Accuracy Bug'

The 'Shiftwalk Accuracy Bug' has a huge impact on CS:GO, yet it continues to be ignored by Valve. The developers have now ignored it for more than two years, and even if they have been working on a fix, nothing has been officially confirmed to the community so far.

Both 'u/birkir’ and ‘u/Zoddom' have reported about this bug in the past to spread awareness amongst community members and also to make Valve aware of this bug, forcing them to take action against it or at least communicate an update on the situation.

What is the Shiftwalk Accuracy Bug?

This bug only triggers when a player goes into a crouching position after shift walking and fires a weapon. Due to the bug, the accuracy of the first two bullets randomly goes way off the charts, following which the accuracy is restored.

The randomness of the accuracy for the first two bullets is the main problem, as it directly goes against the normal game mechanics. This unusual game behaviour is enough to lose a duel especially in a critical situation, which automatically makes this bug a priority.

Also, if a player is running and then goes into a crouching position to take a shot, the bug is not triggered and the bullet accuracy is maintained.

The person who has been most vocal about this issue is a CS:GO user called Zoddom. He has even presented a mathematical equation to explain the bug, providing what he claims to be a simple solution to the problem.

Explanation Provided by Zoddom

The above explanation details out why the first two bullets are highly inaccurate but then returns to the proper state that it should be in. Valve ignoring this for so long is very unfortunate, forcing the community to take drastic measures as they are ready to speak against this problem every week.

Users are clearly not happy with Valve

Until the game-breaking bug is solved or Valve comes forward to update the community on this situation, Zoddom has stated that he would keep sharing information about the bug every week. Valve has so far not come out with an official statement on the matter. It will be interesting to see how long they will take before they actually come forward to address this issue.

German esports organization, Berlin International Gaming (BIG) officially moved their star rifler, Ismailсan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş to the transfer list yesterday on 1st August, signing Nicklas "gade" Gade as his replacement. This move sparked off heavy speculation about the formation of a Turskish CS:GO dream team, something that had been teased by Özgür "woxic" Eker in June earlier this year. At that point in time, it was reported that XANTARES might leave BIG after IEM Cologne 2021, something that has actually come true. XANTARES is leaving BIG a few months before his contract is set to expire at the end of 2021, with Daniel Finkler - BIG's CEO coming forward to state that,

Turkish CS:GO super team reportedly in the works

A Turskish CS:GO dream team that was teased a few months back in June, might finally be coming true with news about XANTARES on his way out being officially confirmed by BIG.

Multiple Turkish esports websites like Gamerbase and TEW Esports have come forward to reveal this Turkish CS:GO lineup, which according to them is as follows,

  • Özgür "woxic" Eker - AWPer

  • Ismailсan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş - IGL

  • Ömer "imoRR" Karataş - Rifler / Entry Fragger

  • Buğra "Calyx" Arkın - Rifler / Support

  • Ahmet "paz" Karahoca - Rifler / Support

Not only this, Gamerbase has further claimed that this lineup is already in talks with Turkish esports organization, Sangal Esports, who shifted their headquarters to the Netherlands on 28th July.

At this point in time, both imoRR and paz are already a part of Sangal Esports active roster which also consists of other players like Engin "MAJ3R" Küpeli, Engin "ngiN" Kor, and Efekan "S3NSEY" Topaloğlu.

As for the other CS:GO players that are speculated to be picked up by Sangal Esports, none of them are officially tied to an organization except for XANTARES. Both woxic and Clayx are free agents, the former having left Cloud9 in January earlier this year while the latter was last seen in action along with a team called gorillazzz in April.

No official announcement has been made by any of the parties involved, so all the reported information provided above needs to be taken with a grain of salt. It is unclear what will happen to the current Sangal Esports roster, in case the Turkish organization signs the three new players.

Current Sangal Esports CS:GO lineup,

  • Engin "MAJ3R" Küpeli - IGL

  • Ahmet "paz" Karahoca

  • Engin "ngiN" Kor

Dota 2 Star Dendi’s Esports Org Hints at Stepping Into Competitive CS:GO

One of the most iconic Dota 2 personalities, Danil "Dendi" Ishutin's esports organization, B8 Esports has dropped massive hints about stepping into competitive CS:GO. The Ukrainian organization was formed last year in January 2020 and primarily competes in Dota 2, but it seems that B8 might now be looking to expand into a new esports title. A week back, B8 had tweeted something related to other esports disciplines popping off while asking the question "Maybe we should take a look there?" Multiple organizations from the region had come forward to speculate that maybe B8 was talking about CS:GO, considering the fact that teams from the CIS region were doing so well at an international stage.

B8 Esports might step into competitive CS:GO

Dendi's Ukrainian esports organization, B8 has dropped massive hints about stepping into competitive Counter-Strike with the region doing so well in CS:GO. Three of the top five teams in the world right now are from the CIS region - Na'Vi, Gambit, and Virtus.pro.

B8, after having suggested that they were thinking of expanding to other disciplines, went on to ask the following question, "If we signed a non-Dota 2 team, would our favorite map be overpass or train?"

Users and other organizations flocked in to answer the question. Gambit Esports responded by naming a few Valorant maps, but it was not enough to deter B8, who went on to jokingly name Office as their potential best map.

B8 actively engaged with other users who also gave their inputs related to the question, further bolstering the speculation that they might actually be serious about entering CS:GO. Now is quite the perfect time to enter the esports title, with the region getting so much spotlight and many players popping off as potential future prospects.

B8 Esports Talks About CS:GO

So far, the organization has strictly limited itself to Dota 2, since being established in January last year. However, it has not been a smooth journey for them, with a lot of roster shuffles due to a poor string of performances that has further led to inconsistency for the organization as a whole.

It will be interesting to see which players B8 Esports go on to sign or which lineup they acquire. Do they directly pick players with an objective to quickly compete at the highest level, or bide their time by building a name for themselves by playing local and regional tournaments.

FaZe Karrigan Names Members of His CS:GO Dream Team

FaZe Clan's in-game leader (IGL) Finn "karrigan" Andersen recently revealed his Counter-Strike dream team consisting of players from both CS 1.6 and CS:GO. The 31-year-old who is considered to be one of the best and most experienced IGL in the world at the moment picked an assortment of Counter-Strike players, in an interview with betway esports. He picked some old school legends like Christoffer "Sunde" Sunde and Fatih "gob b" Dayik, both of whom are former Counter-Strike players who have not played the game recently, along with three active players. Surprsingly, karrigan did not include himself in this lineup and was happy to coach his CS:GO dream team.

Karrigan's CS:GO Dream Team

Karrigan was given the task to select his Counter-Strike dream team and this is what he came up with. The Dane who is currently the captain for FaZe Clan did not have a single player from his current lineup, except for himself in the role of a coach.

This is karrigan's complete dream team lineup,

  • Christoffer "Sunde" Sunde - AWP

  • Fatih "gob b" Dayik - IGL

  • Robin "ropz" Kool - Lurker

  • Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev - Hybrid / Star

  • Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth - Support

  • Finn "karrigan" Andersen - Coach

Karrigan had a word or two to say for every player that he chose in his dream team, showing confidence in the roster that he had chosen by putting in actual thought to comeup with a good mixed roster.

  • Sunde was picked as the primary AWPer simply because of his personality, mainly how calm he tends to remain in the server. The retired Danish CS 1.6 player was one of the best marksmen of his time, even rivalling the legendary Yehor "markeloff" Markelov, and as per karrigan even beating the Ukrainian back in the day.

  • Gob B was chosen as the IGL for his side by karrigan who called him "a god in 1.6 as a caller and also as a mentor, the way he motivated and cared about his teammates, the way he tried to explain stuff." Karrigan further revealed that much of his leading style was also inspired by the German shotcaller.

  • Ropz was an immediate pick for karrigan as he needed some young blood in his team. The Dane went on to praise ropz by stating that "his mechanics are the best that I have seen in the game," which is huge for the 21-year-old who has spent a good part of his career playing with karrigan.

  • S1mple was quickly chosen as the star player for the team by karrigan, who named him as a hybrid player. Karrigan while calling him the "god of CS:GO" went on to highlight his insane consistency that s1mple has shown over the years, proving himself to be amongst the top players for many years now.

  • Xyp9x was karrigan's fifth and final player, choosing him for his excellent support ability and clutch potential. Karriigan called him a tournament winner and a player who knows how to make an era, someone who would round up the team really well.

This was Karrigan's Counter-Strike dream team, though it might look a bit weird on paper the Dane was confident that if everyone was to stick to their role it would be a force to reckon with. A team with at least a 90% potential to win clutches no matter what the odds were, is how karrigan described this lineup.
